I'm not really one for KAL's (for the non-knitters among you KAL means "Knit-Along"), as I don't like knitting deadlines.  I'm even worse at doing Mystery KAL's, which is where you have no idea what the finished item will look like.  Instead the designer sends you a clue every few days until you have all the clues needed to finish the garment.  The only MKAL I have done in the past has been with Woolly Wormhead, the talented hat designer.

However when I read on Twitter that Ysolda Teague was going to do her first ever MKAL, Follow your Arrow, my interest was piqued.  And when I saw that each time you received a clue you would have various options to choose from, and there will be a large number of final permutations of the shawl that she is designing, well that was me completely sold on the idea.   You can find out more information about her MKAL here.  There is also the option to choose to do the shawl in a single colour, or in two colours.

It remains to be seen whether or not I'll keep up with the clues, as quite often life and work tends to get in the way.  But I know quite a number of you have signed up for this KAL, but are having difficulty choosing colour combinations for the pattern.  This is particularly difficult if you don't know what the final item will look like, but what I have done is chosen a few colours which go well together (some classic combinations, and others a bit bolder or unusual), and have put them up in the shop now.

I think I have decided on this combination for my shawl:

RC-141512-27122013

but I may yet change my mind, as I rather like these ones too!:

RC-141503-27122013

RC-141456-27122013

and of course, there has to be some purple in there!

RC-141458-27122013

The colour combinations are all offered at a small discount over buying the hanks individually from the shop.  If you think I've missed out an obvious combination, let me know!
