Assynt
Stevan is still unable to drive (well, technically he can, but apparently if you drive with a plaster cast your car insurance is invalidated!), so when he needed to go into Lochinver today to do some archival work with some of the older members of the Assynt population, I had a couple of hours to kill in Lochinver. I took the opportunity to walk around the village absorbing the atmosphere and the scenery. More often than not I dash into Lochinver,
do the messages, and head straight home again. So it was good to take my time today and snap some of the iconic views of Lochinver.

The Inver River flows out of Loch Assynt into the bay of Lochinver:
And the bridge which links Lochinver to Baddidarroch

I couldn't resist a panoramic view of the bay of Lochinver with the town on either side of the bay. This was taken from just outside the Post Office and is the view which greets me each time I go in to drop parcels off with Anne, the Postmistress.:

And finally, a classic view of Lochinver which is dominated by Suilven, which looms over the town, and the whole of Assynt:
