A while ago you may remember my blog entry about the power of social media and my collaboration with Anne-Lise Maigaard in Sweden.  Well yesterday I had an email from Anne-Lise telling me that the pattern for Desert Veil is now available to purchase from Ravelry..  If you are a member of Ravelry, and more specifically of the Ripples Crafts group on Ravelry, then you'll know that a number of knitters in that group have been doing a test knit of the pattern.  Their progress has been fun to watch, especially for those who had no idea what the finished shawl would look like.  Slowly the test knitters began to reveal photographs of their progress:

And then the photographs of the finished shawl began to appear on Ravelry - it was very exciting to see the finished item, and those who did the test knit were so pleased with their shawl:

I think this is such a pretty pattern and a lovely, unusual shape too.

To celebrate the release of Desert Veil which was written especially for Ripples Crafts yarn, I am offering a discount on the fine laceweight yarn used in the pattern.  You can use either the alpaca/silk laceweight or the merino/silk laceweight for this pattern.  Simply enter "desertveil" in the coupon box during the check out process on the website to receive a 12% discount on your purchase of either or both of these yarns.

Thank you, Anne-Lise, for such a lovely pattern!  I should add that Anne-Lise is working on another secret design, but you need to be a bit patient for that one!
