An email from the organisers of Woolfest popped into my inbox yesterday, confirming that I have once again been granted a stand at Woolfest 2013.  I'm thrilled to be going again this year.  But the email prompted me to write a blog post about the other shows already booked for 2013.

The first event of the year will be on the 16th March in Edinburgh.  This is the inaugural Edinburgh Yarn Festival, and I'm really looking forward to what is already looking like an extremely popular event.  The classes are proving exceptionally popular, and when the first half of places opened for booking last week they sold out within minutes.  The second half of places open this evening around 7.00pm, and I'm sure they'll go just as speedily.  You can find a list of stallholders here.  I already know of folk coming from across the Channel to this event, so if I were you I'd do your level best to get a boat, train, plane, car or even your feet, and get yourself to Edinburgh.  I am very pleased to tell you that in addition to all my normal stock, I will also have copies of Kate Davies' book, Colours of Shetland, on my stand.

The second event is the show that up until this year has been held in Perth.  Scotland's Knitting Only Show is moving to Glenrothes this year on Saturday 11th May.  It is being held in Rothes Halls, which I've not seen, but which I'm told is light and airy and easy to get to either by car or by using public transport.

The beginning of June will see me at Gardening Scotland again.  I will be in the main hall, and NOT in the craft tent.  I know some who have searched for me there.

Woolfest is being held on the 28th and 29th June near  Cockermouth in Cumbria.  Let us all just cross our knitting needles in the hope for better weather this year!

Then another new event which I'll be doing is Yarndale, which is being held in Skipton on the 28th and 29th September.  Again it is the inaugural event this year, and I'm looking forward to it.

There are a couple of other major events in the pipeline, but no dates have been confirmed yet so I can't tell you about those.  But the above should be enough to put in your diary for the moment!  I know my diary is certainly beginning to feel rather heavy.
