I'm thoroughly enjoying my break in Australia, and we've been pretty busy!  Last week we spent a few days in Kingscliff, a lovely little town in the north of New South Wales, very close to the Queensland border.  Although on the surface it is a sleepy little place:



it is very pretty, and a popular beach for swimmers and surfers alike.  And although the temperature was reaching the high 20's, my sister still didn't think it warm enough for a swim!

 



And, of course, there were lizards.  Lots, and lots of lizards:



Alison and I took a drive down to Byron Bay while we were there, and while the town of Byron Bay  didn't do much for me, the lighthouse is amazing, and the views are spectacular.  Although the weather was trying its best to behave like Scottish weather, with dark storm clouds creating fantastic seascapes:



 

And in between all the sight seeing, there is also special family time.  Picnics have always been part of our family life, and it hasn't changed much over the years:
