There is obviously something about forthcoming visits to us that causes folk to break bones! A couple of years ago Neil managed to break his wrist just a few days before heading north to be with us for New Year.

This time it was Gilly's turn, when she broke an ankle on a walking holiday in Europe. She's on the mend now, but long walks for her have been curtailed somewhat. However Neil and Stevan have been achieving some good walks, even though they've been rather wet ones! One walk took them close by Ardvreck Castle, on Loch Assynt:

Whereas for Gilly and I there has been much knitting, and a bit of blocking of a special blanket which will go with me on my forthcoming trip to Australia for the newest member of the family clan, yet to be born:

In between spending time with our good friends, I'm also getting ready for a special show in Inverness this Saturday, 6th October. It is the inaugural event called the Highland Wool and Textile Fair. There are 30 stallholders, all textile related, so do make an effort if you can to come and support this exciting new venture. The Highlands really needs an event like this to promote all the wonderful textile producers to be found in this part of the world. Come and support them!
