Now that I have wrestled control of the blog back from Lexie I can tell you about a new item soon to appear in the shop.  It is a Yarn Pal.

Recently I asked members of the Ripples Crafts group on Ravelry if there was anything in particular that they were having difficulty sourcing.  One person said she wanted a Yarn Pal but that she had been unable to find a source for one in the UK.   Once I was clear about what it was she was looking for, as I'd never heard of them, I realised I knew just the person to make them for me.  Roles is the wood turner who makes the beautiful shawl pins which I stock, and so I approached him to ask if he could build a prototype, which he did.  And today a box full of the new Yarn Pals arrived.  In case you're still not clear as to what they are for, they hold your ball or cake of yarn securely while you knit.  The top flat surface spins around as you wind yarn off, leaving the bottom flat surface to sit securely on the table, or floor, as you knit, and it means you ball of yarn doesn't go rolling off under a chair or the sofa where, in my house, it is liable to get covered in dust.

All the ones that arrived this morning are spoken for, but if you think you would like one please don't hesitate to get in touch.  Pre-orders will be taken.  Because these are hand crafted items there may be a wait of a couple of weeks, but they will make a great addition to your knitting workbox.

They come apart, making them easy to carry around in your knitting bag.  I love them!
