One of the questions I get asked most often at shows when helping folk pick yarn for a multi-colour project is "which colours do you think go together?" I find it awfully difficult to advise, as I know what colours I love together, but I'm reluctant to press my opinion on to others. But I understand that sometimes the colour on my stand can be a little overwhelming, and it is difficult to know where to start in picking shades that work well together.
Recently there has been a real surge in patterns which are very simple, but which use colour to make them something rather special. The one which is probably most popular at the moment is Colour Affection. I am currently on my second one, which I've nearly finished, but you may remember my first incarnation of this pattern:
I absolutely love this version of the shawl. I knitted it in the bluefaced leicester/nylon 4ply blend and initially I thought the yarn may be a little too tightly spun to be effective, but in the end it worked out beautifully (even if I say so myself!). The beauty of this yarn is that it results in a shawl which is very light, but which is so useful for those inbetween times when you just need something to slip over your shoulders to keep drafts out. I find I have it close by constantly as it is so handy just to wrap around your neck and it still looks lovely.

So ... with this in mind I decided to put together a few colour combinations in the shop for you to make your very own colourful shawl. You'll need to buy the pattern directly from 100% Rain if you want to make colour affection, but you may choose to do something else with the yarn. A couple have already disappeared off the shop site, but there are still some left. I am only offering one of each combination so that your shawl will be unique. Along with the 3 hanks of yarn you'll also receive a little white project bag. The Colour Combo's are offered at a reduced price over the individual price of the items were you to buy them separately, so there is a small deal to be had too. So here are just a couple of the colour combinations which I've put together for you in the shop:
Colour Combo 6
Colour Combo 2:
I hope this helps.
