It has been an odd week, and definitely one of ups and downs.    On occasions I was struggling in the dye shed, and at times inspiration failed me.  So I decided the only thing to do when that happens is ..... have some fun!

I decided to put some yarn in the pot, pour different colours over it - particularly colours I would not normally combine, and sit back and wait for it to gently cook.  I was not disappointed.

I decided to unravel the two hanks so you can see what it looks like in a different format.  There are 2 of each of the above hanks and the yarn base is bluefaced leicester / nylon 4ply yarn, but there are variations between each hank because of the method used in dyeing.  If you want either of these before I get them up into the shop, e-mail me or leave a comment.

However out of the fun time I had in the shed, I did come up with a new colourway.  I have a very special plan for this colourway, of which there will be more later, and so it isn't going up in the shop just yet.  But here is a little peek:

This colourway is a mixture of blue and turquoise and is a mix of shades that we see in the sea around the coast.  And this is a hint to my plans with this colour, but I have a few things to iron out first before I can reveal my plans.  Here's a different view:

The yarn base used for these pictures is the 4ply Silk, Còinneach.

Which brings me on to the news of yarn clubs.  I have introduced a number of yarn clubs to the shop including one for the 4ply Còinneach and one for the laceweight Còinneach. I have also reintroduced the silk/merino 4ply yarn club and have started a club for the incredibly popular Na Dannsairean 4ply.
