I always associate April with yellow. The daffodils are all in full bloom:

And there is the gorse:

and forsythia which I don't have a photo of, but there is quite a bit of it in Gattonside village. Very pretty!

Sadly, though, the weeds begin to appear too, but still yellow:

But yesterday also turned into a white April day. We woke up to snow falling softly, although not enough to lie for long, and the first lamb appeared in the field behind our house. Very fluffy, and very white. I always think it is such a shame lambs grow up to become sheep.

Although I have to remember that lambs don't really produce enough wool to keep me supplied!

Apologies for being such a poor blogger this week, but there has been a lot going on in Lockhart Towers, and life has been a little hectic. However, one of the occupants of the household tends not to allow the stresses and strains of everyday life get to one.

Relaxed Dog

We've always been fortunate in having dogs who like the car, which is just as well given the miles we put under Mungo's belt each year. Our previous Yorkie, Sally, tended to get a little car sick in the early years, and we solved the problem by feeding her small bits of ginger nut biscuits - it did the trick!
