Yesterday we had to go to Strathgarve to get Lexie a haircut. When we set off it was trying hard to sleet, but by the time we reached Elphin the snow was coming down pretty heavily. As we left Elphin and headed up the steep hill towards Knockan Crag we realised that we were very lucky to be in Mungo. Stuck, in the snow, were two lorries, 3 cars, and a bus. Mungo simply sailed past them all, over Knockan Crag and down on into Ullapool.

Knockan Crag Snow

We felt slightly guilty leaving them stuck in the snow, but there wasn't anything we could do. And we passed the snow plough heading their way, so they were soon to be rescued. When we came back down Knockan a few hours later there was little sign that anyone had been stuck.

24 hours later, and we're up in the hills behind our house. No sign of snow, other than on the hills in the distance.

Waterloch

Tomorrow ..... we head south again. Sometimes it is very difficult to leave our home in Assynt.
