2011 has been quite a year for Stevan and I and for my whole family for many and varied reasons.

There were shows:

There were walks:

There was an engagement:

and there were reunions with family, some of whom we were meeting for the first time:

and we said goodbye to a very dear family friend.

It was certainly a very hectic year.  It was the year I set up and organised the ...Made in Assynt markets which had varied success, but which shall continue next year under the watchful eye of someone else.  It was also the year I helped A Fine Yarn in Darlington celebrate the opening of their new, beautiful shop by paying them a visit in the Spring.  It was the year Stevan went back to studying towards his BA Hons degree full time.  It was the year our hens moulted and went off the lay for a while.

As for 2012?  Well, as far as the business goes there will be new yarns, hopefully new shows, and 2012 looks like it will be even busier than 2011.  On the family front there will be a wedding, hopefully a visit to family in Australia, and Stevan will be entering his fourth and final year of university.  Peggy and Lexie are holding out for longer and more frequent walks.  Assynt is hoping to hold a festival in the Autumn and I have the two retreats organised on Tanera Mor in September.

So, as 2011 draws to a close and we look forward to 2012, I wish you all a very happy, and peaceful, New Year.
