We tend to spend our Christmas in a quiet way.  And in the last few years an essential part of our Christmas day has been having a walk in the hills.  However this Christmas the weather has beaten us.  With warnings of gusts up to 80 mph we thought that walking up high in the hills was probably not the best plan.

So - after a splendid lunch of roast beef and all the trimmings we headed out for a very brief walk just to get some fresh air into our lungs.  But I couldn't have taken a photo even if I'd tried - we were buffeted all the time.

Instead I leave you with a photograph taken the other day on our way down to Ullapool.  The scene was the sort that makes you just stop and applaud the beauty of the natural world.

I wish you and yours a wonderful, peaceful Christmas, however you spend it.
