For the last few days all I have seen are bank statements, paypal invoices, expenses spreadsheets and the computer.  It is the time of year that I do my tax returns.  Stevan's is wonderfully simple and straightforward .... mine is a little more complex.

So this afternoon, after lunch, I decided that what I needed to do was bunk paperwork class and head off to the hills with the dogs.  I'd far rather be looking at this:

and pondering on how long your shadow gets at this time of year when the sun is so low in the sky:

There has been some knitting taking place too, but I was waiting for this little treat to reach my sister for her birthday before showing it to you.  It is Pretty Thing, a pattern by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, and I knitted it using my cashmere/silk 4ply blend in the Summer Marram colour.  It used just over 25g of yarn and is as light as a feather but very warm.

I am currently test knitting some lovely new yarns which will be on the shelf next year.  I'm knitting with a 100% silk 4ply yarn which is unlike any silk yarn I've knitted with before.  It has a gorgeous lustre, and as soon as I can get a reasonable photograph of the yarn I will show you.  Also being tested are a camel/silk blend and a cashmere/silk blend (different to the one already in the shop).

In the meantime .... it is back to the paperwork.
