I made a conscious effort on Saturday morning to take some photographs of the outside of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Church before the second day of the Glasgow School of Yarn got under way. From the outside the church is pretty nondescript and unprepossessing. And to be honest, a wee bit dirty:
But look a little closer and there are all kinds of wonderful little details included in the fabric of the building, including this little side door:
Inside I had a few minutes to wander around before the doors opened for the day, and it was a real treat. Upstairs in the gallery you had a wonderful view of the church itself,
And the attention to detail continued on the inside of the church too:
Even in the hall where we had the market place there were beautiful little details, even though you had to look high up into the rafters to see them:
The whole weekend was well organised by The Yarn Cake, with lovely little touches and attention to detail (how I would have loved to have had an appointment with the masseuse!). Many thanks to Antje, Sadie and the whole team of volunteers who made this a very pleasant event to attend and be part of. And an extra special thank you to Clare for loaning Mhairi and I her flat.

I've already started my En Pointe and it's knitting up a treat.
See you somewhere next year
