Next week is The Glasgow School of Yarn, and I'm thrilled that I'll be there with all my yarns, amongst other bits and bobs.   Today has been a typical Scottish day of sunshine and showers, so I took the opportunity to sit in front of the fire and label the ever growing stock of the new bluefaced leicester / nylon 4ply yarn which is proving very popular.

While dyeing yarn this past week I hit upon a new colour which, even if I say so myself, is absolutely GORGEOUS!  But I'm stuck for a name.  There has been some discussion on the Ripples Crafts group on Ravelry, and I'm running a poll there, so if you're a Ravelry member, go and vote please!

The method of dyeing used for this shade means that every hank will be slightly different, and there is also a variation in the resulting colour on the different bases.  Here are the bases done so far:

Alpaca/Silk/Cashmere Laceweight:

British Falkland Merino / Nylon High Twist 4ply:

Bluefaced Leicester / Nylon 4ply:

And if you're not a Ravelry member, then the options for names are:

*  Cerise Swirl

*  Dancing Ballerina

*  Fuschia

*  Irene (after the person who snaffled the first hank which came out the pot - Sorry Irene, I know that will embarrass you most awfully!)

so please leave a comment with your choice of name.  As soon as the yarn has a name it will start appearing in the shop.

And finally, I am thrilled to announce that Ripples Crafts is now stocking Jillybean wire lace blocking kits.  I have a limited supply of these and I'll be taking them all to The Glasgow School of Yarn next week, so if you want to preorder one to collect in Glasgow, let me know.   I don't have any photographs yet, but the kit contains

Flexible 308L stainless steel wire rods: three of 1m x 2.4mm, seven of 1m x 1.6mm and two of 50cm x 1.6mm, a one metre wooden rule, 20 T-pins in a sealable bag and full instructions

I won't be offering these on a mail order basis just yet, as I'm not sure yet how well they'll post.  But I'll have them at any shows that I attend.

And, regarding my previous posting about being photographed, I'm sorry that I forgot to add that this photography session was also linked to same advertising campaign for Business Gateway that was the reason for my recent video session.   Hopefully that is the end of having to be in the limelight for a while.  It isn't my favourite occupation!
