I can't begin to tell you what an absolute pleasure this weekend was.  Ganseyfest was organised by the Moray Firth Gansey Project and the Moray Firth Partnership. It was so well organised and seemingly ran so smoothly.  And the catering staff at the venue looked after us exceptionally well!

My weekend did not get off to the most promising of starts when, on my way south to Inverness, I was faced with a little (or not so little) hold up on the narrow road that runs from Ullapool to Inverness.

Here is a closer view of what the difficulty was.  Bus meets wide load on a narrow bend ......

Fortunately they managed to get past each other, and I wasn't held up too much.  Then it was on to the Centre for Life Sciences to set up.

And it was a lovely surprise to see it looked equally good from above!:

What made this show so enjoyable was there was time to talk to folk.  Even though I was on my own, there seemed to be the opportunity to catch up with customers, chat to new customers, meet folk I'd only talked to on Ravelry or the internet, such as Liz Lovick, Betsan Corkhill, and Jennifer Cantwell (do you remember these glorious red dresses - created by Jennifer)  and renew acquaintances with Gilly Langton, Pamela from Hi-Arts, and Ruth Black.

I'm sure I'll realise that I've missed out quite a few folk tomorrow when I'm a bit more awake, but right now I'm about ready for bed.  But not without saying thank you to all those who took pity on me on my own and made sure I was kept fed and watered with the gorgeous scones from the kitchen, and tea, coffee, and chocolate eclairs.  And to Mandy on Di Gilpen's stand alongside mine - it was fun having you next door, Mandy.

Oh, and before I forget.  The interview that was filmed - well it was for a promotional video for Business Gateway.  As yet it isn't up on the website, but I may (or may not!) let you know once it is available for viewing.
