Today was the last of the summer ...Made in Assynt markets, and I was quite sad when, at 4.00pm, we all began to pack up our wares for the last time this summer.  We still have the Christmas market to look forward to, and it will be a HUGE market this year (the biggest ever held in Assynt), and we will be back next year.  In the meantime, I spent quite a bit of time today photographing some of the fantastic range of high quality produce which is available at the markets:

First up, some of the lovely fresh veg from Steve and Amanda (and I should add that the cucumbers are the best I have ever tasted!  As soon as I got home this evening I had chopped the end off and was munching it like an apple)

And there was cake, courtesy of Amanda:

and perhaps a bit more cake:

and then some rocky road:

It had obviously been an early morning for Amanda as she'd also been up baking bread rolls.  The smell proved irresistible to me and one made its way to my stand for my breakfast.  Quite a few folk had the same idea!:

There was delicious smelling soap courtesy of Elaine:

And some soap designed to revitalise courtesy of The Little Soap and Candle Company:

Johnny had bought a vast range of items made from discarded deer antler:

Charlie had his range of (sometimes to the point) hand made signs:

There may have been a little bit of yarn:

Ann Marie had her lovely range of textile delights:

Myke (Twist Jewellery) had some stunning pieces from his collection:

And last, but not least, there was glass,

Beautiful, hand painted glass from Dorell:

I do hope that if you are in the Assynt area on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November that you will come along to the Christmas market.  Currently we have 20 stallholders signed up, and it will be our biggest Christmas market yet.  If you live in Assynt, don't do your Christmas shopping until you have been to the market, as I'm sure you will find something to suit your need and purse right here.

And if I can just add a quick word on the shop front, there is a special, introductory offer on the Bluefaced Leicester 4ply which has been newly added to the shop.  The price will revert to its normal price at midnight on Sunday 11th September.  So grab a bargain while you can.  This 4ply is finer than any other 4ply in the shop, and I would actually class it as a light fingering yarn.  But it is wonderful to work with, and I think it will soon be my yarn of choice for socks.
