I am in the final, panic-ridden stages of preparing for Woolfest at the end of this week. Will I have enough yarn. Do I have the right balance and mix of colours? Do I have the right mix of bases? Will I have room in Mungo for everything I want to take? Will people come? Will they like my work? Will the credit card machine work? So many questions .... and poor Stevan is doing his best to soothe my rather jangled nerves.

The last 10 days have been incredibly busy, and I'm sorry that this poor blog has been a little neglected. But there have been some exciting events during the whirl of activity. Issue 33 of The Knitter magazine is out, and I was so thrilled to read Mandy Haggith's article entitled "Wild Colour" in which she discusses how 3 dyers (including me) take both inspiration and/or materials from the wild and create "beautiful and inspiring yarns". The photograph used to head up the article shows my "Heather, Peat and Rock" colourway, which is one of my favourite colourways. I've dyed plenty of the high twist falkland merino 4ply in this colourway for Woolfest. I think my favourite line from Mandy's article is when she is talking about my inspiration and she adds "you can buy her colours on the internet and they each come with a free ball of yarn". Thanks for a great article, Mandy.
We have also had a further very successful ....Made in Assynt fair. These markets are going from strength to strength, and the number of those wishing to take a table continues to grow beyond the number of tables available. The 1st July fair will have a record 17 stallholders. So if you plan on being in Assynt on the 1st July, make sure you make a note in your diary.
Stevan and I also had a lovely time with our relatives from the US. Ian and Katrina fell in love with this part of the world, I think it is fair to say. Somehow I don't think it will be too long before they're back for another visit.
So ..... my blog may be quiet for a few days. I head south to Cumbria on Wednesday, and will leave Stevan behind to hold the fort and look after the dogs/hens/garden. So if you plan on coming to Woolfest, please come along to H152 and say hello. And don't forget, I do have the credit card machine now, so if you start to run out of cash I can help you out by accepting your credit card :-)

I absolutely adore the colour in the photo - please pass me my knife and fork, I could eat it! (No, I am not weird really.)
