I have had a lovely 2 days at A Fine Yarn in Darlington. Yesterday, with the help of "The Aunties", Chris and I were able to spend time with all the lovely folk who came in to stroke, cuddle, and squish the yarn. And today Libby joined us and added her own sparkle to proceedings. And those of you who may have heard Libby talking about the Nearly Naked Chef sandwich bar - well she didn't persuade me to succumb and try the nutella, strawberry and chocolate fudge cake pannini. Yes, a paninni with chocolate fudge cake inside!
Today was busy, but Chris's shop has so much space that while there was sometimes a small queue for the till, there was so much to look at while waiting I don't think folk really minded having to wait. I met so many lovely fellow Ravelry folk, and there was so much laughter and swapping of knitting tales. I am afraid I even succumbed to a bit of purchasing - I bought the yarn for the lovely blanket which Chris has designed using the King Cole Twist yarn. It is growing fast, and I have visions of it soon gracing my workshop - although I may need to ask Chris for help with the tassels.
So, it is back up the road for me tomorrow, although Mungo and I won't reach home until Monday.
Thank you to Chris for inviting me. I had fun! And thank you to everyone who came and supported the trunk show. I know that those who visited the shop for the first time were bowled over by the range of yarns Chris has available, and not only yarns but every bit of haberdashery you could need. And for those of you who couldn't make the trunk show - well Chris may have secreted a small stash of Ripples Crafts laceweight in the stockroom ........
Thank You Darlington!
