Following on from my post yesterday, the consensus was that I should hold a raffle in order to raise funds for the victims of the NZ Earthquake.

Jill, who knitted the shawl that will  form the main prize, works for a bank in NZ and the bank has organised a scheme whereby staff who donate money through the scheme will have their donations matched $ for $.   So once the raffle is closed all the funds will go to Jill who will then donate the funds through the bank scheme.  I hope you agree that this is the best method of doing this.  Tickets will cost £5.00 of which £4.70 will go to the appeal (Paypal will retain 30p from every transaction as a fee), and you can, of course, buy more than one ticket!

The raffle will run from now until Tuesday 1st March after which the names of all those who have bought tickets will go into a woolly hat (and if you bought multiple tickets your name will go in multiple times) and I will ask Stevan to draw the winning tickets.  YOU CAN BUY TICKETS HERE

There are 18 prizes for the raffle:

Currently the major prize box contains:  1 hand knitted shawl (Brandywine, designed by Romi Hill and knitted by Jill Shipp in NZ); 1 hank of Falkland Merino 4ply yarn in Deep Teal or colour of your choice; 1 hank of Assynt Tweed 4ply in Winter Mist or colour of your choice
