When Peggy was very young I took her along to agility classes.

She was the smallest dog there, but definitely the bravest!  She had no qualms about going up the highest obstacles, or through high hoops, and she even ventured into the fabric tunnels without a glance back at her boss.  But when it came to the tiniest of jumps over a pole she always simply ducked underneath.  My frustration was clearly beginning to show at this obviously stubborn dog, but the lady taking the class had rather a soft spot for "little Peggy" and assured me that the reason she wasn't doing the smaller jumps was because "they were too easy" and they were "beneath her and not challenging enough".  I never had the heart to disillusion her and tell her that Peggy was/is just stubborn!  Ever since she was a tiny puppy she has been agile and quite the escapologist.   The first time I went to see her as a 6 week old puppy she managed to escape out of the puppy enclosure and find her way from the kitchen into the lounge where I was chatting to the breeder and creep up onto my lap.  How could I not take her after that!

So this Sunday when we were up in the hills I decided to put her to the test to see if she was still agile.  We were at a little loch not far from the house where there is a tiny island a few feet away from the edge of the loch.  It was quite a leap for Stevan:

But Peggy looked confident:

and all I managed was a blur!

But she landed without getting her paws too wet.

Lexie, on the other hand, concentrated on her strength - posing for photographs:
