But what I will tell you is initially I was surprised by their choice of colours. They were colours that I had discontinued as they were not that popular, but it would appear that I was ahead of my time! Yesterday I attended a meeting to look at the colour trends and stories for Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 and it would seem that these particular colours will be high fashion in Winter 2010/2011. The colours for this season are lovely. The trend stories behind the colours fall into 4 main groups:
Polar: colours here include all the cool blues, tans, whites, pale purples and silver

Heritage: this is a lovely colour range and includes the burnt oranges, browns, camels, yellow, indigo and the darker purples and maroons

Nature: This covers the greens, ebony, midnight blues and again, surprisingly, a golden yellow!

Fantasy: There is a real fun element here, and colours are extremely bright including grape, lipstick red, bright green, sunshine yellow and aqua blue, with a bit of tangerine thrown in for good measure.

Now those of you who know me know only too well that I am not a follower of fashion. I am very much in the "practical and comfortable" camp, but it was interesting yesterday looking at hundreds and hundreds of photographs from catwalks around the world and trying to spot trends running through the different companies and fashion houses. And regarding colours I have no real intention of sticking slavishly to the colours for the season, as I think colour is such a personal thing and just because it is in fashion does not mean that it is a colour which one either likes or suits.
And besides which, I already have a huge range of colours, so there is bound to be something there that is high fashion!
Edited to add: I forgot to mention that knitted garments are huge in winter 2010/2011, as are knitted accessories, including some lovely knitted handbags. Scarves knitted in different textures of yarn are popular, as well as gloves and stoles (rectangular rather than triangular) worn flat across the chest with the long bits hanging over your shoulder, as shown here:
