When you are a hand dyer, and a sole trader, you have many titles:

Chief (and only) Dyer

Chief (and only) Dryer

Chief (and only) Labeller

Chief (and only) Packer

Chief (and only) Accountant

...... you get the idea!  And every now and then, just to keep you on your toes, you get thrown a little challenge.

I can't go into detail for obvious reasons, but an exclusive design company has approached Ripples Crafts for some hand dyed yarns for one of their designs.  They want particular colours, and the resulting garment will most probably be a one off.  This is so exciting for me, but challenging, as the colourways required are not the easiest to achieve, and consistency will be more important than normal as most of the time knitters buy one hank of my yarn which is sufficient to complete a project whereas with this challenge I will be producing multiple hanks.  But challenges are good, if a little daunting given the very tight time schedule and given that I am meant to be restocking for Woolfest after a successful visit to Gardening Scotland last week.

So please forgive me if I'm a bit quiet over the next few days ..... but the "busy" sign is up on the studio door.
