When you start something new, as I did a couple of years back when I began Ripples Crafts, you simply have no idea what paths such beginnings will take you down.  Now while I'm accustomed to walking,   sometimes the paths are interesting, but completely outside of your normal walking zone.  I found myself down such a path yesterday when I went to Inverness to meet representatives from various British Embassies in a variety of Nordic countries.   I can't go into much detail, as there's nothing really to report right now, but suffice it to say that the meetings had me scrambling around my wardrobe trying to find something to wear other than the jeans and t-shirts which I have lived in for the past 2 years.  The resulting simple black frock with pink jacket seemed to be okay, and while I didn't feel I really fitted into conversations around Ambassador's dinners and trade delegations, at least I didn't look too shabby!  Highlights of the day included having the Danish delegate expressing complete delight at my hand dyed yarns, and sitting next to Sandra Murray MBE during a coffee break, drinking coffee and discussing (on an almost equal footing!) the pro's and con's of bringing a boutique type product to the marketplace and her childhood neighbour, Alice Starmore.

I'm not sure my nerves could take too many meetings such as yesterday's, especially as my little car started to get as hot under the collar as I was on my way down while we were stuck in a traffic jam, and threatened to stop and refuse to go any further (I was having visions of having to push my car in my high heels and lovely pink jacket!), but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

But today it was back to work, and I've spent the day updating the shop website because this weekend there is a special event ...... {drumroll}  ..... I am having a sale to celebrate the Vernal Equinox.   There will be discounts right across the store, except for a very small number of items including the rewinding service, and the club memberships.    So I've added some delicious new yarns,

and updated the stock on some old favourites.

The sale is strictly for two days only, the 20th and 21st March, and by midnight on Sunday (UK time) it will all be over.  So if you've had your eye on a hank or two, this weekend will be your opportunity to grab a bargain.  Enjoy!
