Once again our Sunday walk was a little curtailed.  We did have good intentions (I even pocketed the small boxes of fruit juice and chocolate bars!), but the type of snow that we have makes it impossible for the dogs.  We'd only gone half way up the hill behind our house before Peggy was once again covered in snowballs.  She tried desperately to keep going, but eventually she had to give in and be picked up and carried.

Even Lexie found the going hard, although it didn't stop her rolling in the snow which resulted in even more snowballs accumulating around her face and legs.

It was beautiful out in the sunshine, and the snow was sparkling and the views inspiring.

Talking of inspiring, some of you may already read the blog "Needled", and will know that the knitting world was recently shocked by the news that Kate had suffered a stroke at a very young age.    I have been in awe of Kate since first "meeting" her online, and then in person at Woolfest last year.  Her knowledge of textile history is extensive, her creative flair exceptional, and more recently she has been designing some lovely patterns.  Reading Kate's blog entry today left me feeling quite humbled, and extremely grateful for what I have and what I can do.    Kate's approach and mental attitude to her current situation is inspiring, and so typical.   So Kate, if you're reading this, do as you're told by the nurses, doctors and physio's, but do it in your own inimitable style.
