It's been a tough week or two in the Lockhart household. But we're beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Peggy, our Yorkshire Terrier, has been very ill. However, thanks the the great treatment of our vets at Gibson and Gibson, she's on the road to recovery. Today we had some long-awaited, warm sunshine, and the dogs made the most of it. Lexie lay close to the flowers which she loves to sniff:

and Peggy just took up her station in the sun.

And while we are having some lovely warm weather, there is no mistaking that Autumn is not far away. When I let the dogs out one morning this week there was a distinctly autumnal chill about. I half expected to see a light frost on the car. But autumn treasures are starting to appear, and it'll soon be time for Apple and Bramble Pie:
