Today was a Christmas Fair in Achnasheen.  So at 8.00am this morning my friend, Stella, and I were on the road to Achnasheen.   I've not managed to do any of the fairs at Ledgowan Lodge Hotel this year as I've been working for VisitScotland, but I was thrilled to be able to do the Christmas Fair.  The hotel was looking suitably festive, and as usual all the exhibitors were well looked after with constant cups of tea and coffee, and the most wonderful chocolate cupcakes.  Thank you Jackie and Jim for all the organisation and helping with all the carrying to and from the cars.  It was a lovely day.  Or if I'm honest, it was lovely inside - not so lovely outside!  I don't think it stopped raining all day.

I love doing fairs, as you're always learning.  I make the mistake of going, thinking I know what it is those attending will want to buy, and find they buy the things you least expected them to!   I mistakingly assumed that relative new knitters would want to work with thicker yarn, and so made sure I had plenty of double knitting with me, but contrary to my expectations once visitors saw my version of Kiri, and my Fountain Pen Shawl, they were inspired enough to want to try knitting lace, which was rather lovely.  So rather a lot of lace yarn went out the door today, as well as some of the new Assynt Mist lace yarn, which will be up on the website later this weekend.  Here's a little preview - although not a great picture I'm afraid.  I'm having trouble capturing the beauty of this yarn.

Quite a few of Isaac's Flock went to new homes today too!

Also going up over the weekend will be the new 2ply Bluefaced Leicester laceweight yarn which comes in 100g hanks and has approximately 800m of yarn to a hank.

Next weekend I hope to be at the Christmas Fair in Ullapool, so if any of you are in the area, do pop in and say hello.  I promise to have a large variety of colours, bases and goodies.
