My Mum recently sent me some great photographs.  She'd been digging out old 35mm slides and converting them to digital photographs, and there was one of me when I was very young (3 to be precise):

That's me, second from the left.  Then, a few years later and slightly older, but looking like the total tomboy that I was:

That's me on the left.  I should explain - we were on top of Table Mountain.  My Mum is beautifully dressed with her hat, handbag and skirt, and there I am with no shoes on!

And then, a few years later, I went through the long-hair phase:

Looking at the photographs it didn't seem that long ago - but then today, out of the blue, I got an e-mail inviting me to a school reunion to celebrate the fact that I left school 30 years ago.   30 years .... that's simply not possible.  When did that happen?  I'm not able to go, given it is still the tourist season here in Scotland at that stage, so I'll still be working, and it's being held here, which is near to Stellenbosch in South Africa.  I'd like to be a fly on the wall though.  How easy do you think it would be to recognise old school friends?  I doubt they'd recognise me!

That was taken last weekend at Woolfest.  Me in the middle, with friends Maggie and Tessa on either side.   Looks like I'm still going through the long hair phase.

Ah well, I guess the important thing is that it doesn't feel like it was 30 years ago.  After all, I still consider myself to be around 29 ......
