I'm sure you must be tired of seeing so many photo's of the area around our home so I apologise in advance for yet more photographs, but we're so lucky to live in such a beautiful area, and it's hard not to boast! Yesterday, for the first time in weeks, I took a proper walk with Stevan and the dogs. We headed inland, in to the hills, and it's not long before you're surrounded by stunning scenery.
And the geology in the Assynt area is legendary - I only wish I was more knowledgeable about it all.
We climbed, and climbed, until we reached a great look out point. From this cairn we are looking west out towards the island of Lewis, which is across the Minch from us in Assynt.
One of the great positives of this part of the world is that you're welcome to Wild Camp. Which is precisely what the owner of this tent had decided to do, alongside Lexie's loch. They chose a lovely spot.
Today it was back to the dye pots.
