Sunday WalksUmm …. there wasn’t one today. However, yesterday Stevan travelled north to go to a meeting, and his journey took us along one of our favourite drives – the drive between Kylesku and Durness. The light in this part of the world always throws up surprisingly beautiful photographic opportunities, and he was not disappointed yesterday. His meeting was at the Rhiconich Hotel which sits at the head of Loch Inchard, and looking out the hotel window he spotted this wonderful scene: This afternoon I sat down and began Brandywine Shawl, which is being sold by Rosemary Hill of Romi Designs to raise money for the work of MSF in Haiti. It’s too dark to take photo’s right now, but after just a short while I’m already through Chart A and on to Chart B, so I’m steaming along. I’m using some of my own yarns, a bluefaced leicester 4ply in a shade of silvery grey. It’s looking lovely so far! It’s not up on Romi’s own website yet, but once it is I’ll put a link in here, just in case you’re not a Ravelry member – yet! Edited to add: Here is the link on Romi’s website: Brandywine Shawl. You will see that in 24 hours she has made the magnificent sum of $500 which has already been sent to MSF. 3 comments to Sunday Walks |

Oh temptation – I’ve just looked at the pattern, and I still have some of your gorgeous yarn ….. but I’m supposed to be concentrating on finishing projects which have been languishing for years – just now I’m working on a major cross stitch picture which I started in 1996!! We only had a short walk yesterday, as it was a bit grey and gloomy.
Nice shawl – I hope to see your version soon.
lovely – silver grey? sounds delightful.
